Name Game for TinyD

April 5, 2007
Filed under: Baby Dunbar, Blog — Kerry @ 1:49 pm

Travis and I are working on a name for TinyD/Genghis/Genghis Geronimo Dunbar. We have some ideas, but we’re not sharing them.  (Who knows, maybe the baby will be named Genghis Geronimo. I’m sure he’d be very popular in school)

We’re open to suggestions and would love to see your guesses/suggestions for a good name for him.  Post your guesses in the comment section of this post (you’ll have to be logged in), include a first and middle name, and give as many possible names as you want.

I demand the end of winter

Filed under: Baby Dunbar, Blog — Kerry @ 1:49 pm

That’s it. I’m tired of the winter. It’s cold again today and I need a coat for getting to and from work.  It’s spring in
Texas, so my 18 years of living their acclimated me to expect spring weather and flowers in March, not snow and gray.  I think I’ll go buy some flowers. That will make me feel better. Or maybe I’ll just eat something instead.

Crockpot Madness

Filed under: Baby Dunbar, Blog — Kerry @ 1:48 pm

Travis’s mom gave us a crock pot for Christmas.  I tried it out last night week for the first time, using a recipe Travis and I have made before for ‘One Pot Chicken’.  The recipes in the cookbook that came with the crockpot are fine for more people, but there’s no way Travis and I can eat 2 chickens and 2 pounds of rice in a few days, or a multipound rump roast.  So I braved a ‘regular’ recipe in the crock.  It’s basically a hearty chicken stew with big hunks of veggies and nice broth.  As I was a little afraid of the crock pot burning down the house, and because we were going to be out of the house the next day for 10+ hours, I used it to cook the stew overnight while we were sleeping.  Waking up in the morning to the smell of chicken soup is kinda nice and it turned out well. You actually can cook food for 10 hrs without having the veggies turn to mush!  The second try is today, so that we’ll have something to feed my parents when they get here this evening besides pasta and sauce from a jar or gardenburgers.
