Nesting

June 10, 2007
Filed under: Baby Dunbar, Blog — Kerry @ 8:16 am

Travis and I have different versions of nesting. His Dad is here this weekend, and they’ve installed ceiling fans in the nursery and guest room. It’s amazing how much they help cool the rooms off.

So for Travis, nesting = major house project.

As for me, I went shopping yesterday. Babies R Us, where it turns out you can get free stuff on Saturdays, the fabric/craft store, and Target.  We now have a lot of Tupperware, ranging from food size to giant storage bins for the babies closet.  I’ve been all about sorting baby clothes into appropriate size piles (with some help from Travis) and organizing.

So for me, nesting = Tupperware and storage bins.

I guess this is better than powerwashing the house from a ladder.

Clumsy

Clearly my center of gravity has changed and makes me a little more clumsy.  No stiletto heels for me, no elliptical trainer, and no ladders.  Less clear is why I drop so many things on the floor now.  My hands should still work, but I seem to drop things a lot more often, which requires bending over/squatting  (more of a challenge than expected) to retrieve.  I’m also clumsy with the food and usually end up wearing something I’ve eaten that day.  Last night, I managed to knock a big glass of water off the nightstand, all over the wall, carpet, and lamp. It was late and I was about squatted out, but Travis was nice enough to clean it up for me.
