I’m curious to learn about the readership of this website:  will anyone even notice that there is a new blog?  (I’ve suggested to the International Field Day Committee that anyone who finds this news before Saturday receives a field day point, but I didn’t get much of a response.) 

So yeah, I’m preggers.  Pretty crazy stuff.  I’d like to give a huge shout-out to Christy and Eric for being the best secret-keepers this side of the reigning Olympic Champion, my mother. (If you ever need to tell someone a secret that you don’t want anyone to know, call my mother.  Sheils is amazing.)  Due to Christy’s direct questioning and my inability to lie, they have known the news for over 6 weeks and have been wonderful friends in keeping it on the DL.

Even now, I worry that, at almost 11 weeks, I’m talking “too early.” Since I tend to be the type who remains convinced that if something bad can happen, it will happen to me, I have been a bit more close-mouthed than my other half.  (And for those of you who know Seth, you know that’s REALLY a shock!!)  Ever since our 9-week doctor’s appointment where we saw the little heartbeat, the Sherwood teaching community has known of our news.  I’ve been a little slower in catching up but now throw caution to the proverbial wind.  Recognizing that Miss Manners would probably tell me it’s still a little early, I hereby proclaim that if all continues as expected, little Baboo Kenton will be born around January 5, 2008.
