I am feeling the pressure to keep up with (and eventually surpass) Kerry’s number of blogs but I’m not sure I’m going to make it.  As you probably know, I tend to be long-winded so I imagine I would write one long-ish entry where she would be efficient and break it into two or three. 

We’ve subscribed to a weekly newsletter that arrives each Thursday evening with an update about where Baboo is now in the developmental process.  Each week, we try to make guesses about what item of food they will compare him/her to.  Last week really threw us by relating the size to a kumquat! Seth’s guess for this week was a plum but it turned out to be a fig.  I am SO mad because I TOTALLY thought about a fig earlier but didn’t say it aloud.  Plus, I honestly didn’t know how a fig compared to a kumquat in size.

It’s been fun telling people about our news.  The winner of the “Most Surprised” award might have to go to my dad who asked if it were a joke, but I think I’m going to bestow it upon my dear Baylor friend, Rosemond.  She was one of the first people I just came out and told rather than working through an elaborate tale that ended with a deftly inserted mention of being preggers.  I was chastising her for not returning my call and said, “if you don’t call me back, how am I going to tell you that we’re having a kid?”  There was silence.  Utter shock.  It was awesome.  Then from the background, I hear her husband ask, “Is it Seth’s?”
