Boy am I glad that I have a spot ‘reserved’ for induction tomorrow. Every evening the contractions pick up in frequency from every 15 minutes to every 10 minutes and even more frequent (even a few that were less than 5 minutes apart!), but then when I change position, pee, or lay down, they go back to baseline. So we report to the hospital tomorrow am.
Watching the Transformers movie didn’t encourage labor, but it was pretty good. Lots of fab special effects and nifty transitions from car to robot, robot to fighter jet, etc. The plot was better than I expected (i.e. there was one). The movie isn’t going to change your life or make you a better person, but it is definitely worth some summer entertainment.
Other movies/DVDs:
Ocean’s 13 – Better than Ocean’s 12 and lots of good twists. And Brad Pitt.
Little Miss Sunshine – Probably the best movie I’ve seen this summer. Cute (dysfunctional) family story about a family on a road trip to a child beauty pageant. Definitely worth seeing.
Cool Hand Luke – Classic Paul Newman movie, before he started making salad dressing and gourmet popcorn. It seems to have been made before movie editing was invented as it is quite long and some of the scenes are like long filler sequences. It was fun watching him eat 50 hard boiled eggs, tho. And it’s also where the classic line, “What we have here is a failure to communicate” delivered in a Southern accent comes from.
Time to go putter around the nursery….
