Even though I’m on vacation, I had to continue reading our baby updates. I’m in Deep Creek Lake with Drew, his parents, his sister and brother-in-law, our niece, Emma, and Emma’s up in coming sibling who is currently gestating @ 15 weeks. We got a great house this year, which I think we’ll be coming back to for years to come. It’s on an inlet off the main part of the lake and has a great back yard covered in goose poop.
So far, activities havecomprised of board games, movies, Wii games, fishing off the dock, swimming in the lake, feeding the ducks, and collecting tiny frogs in Tupperware containers and keeping them until they suffocate. Good times. The boys are going to play golf tomorrow or Thursday, rain pending.
Thor is 27 weeks today and must have gone through some kind of growth spurt yesterday. He squirmed around more yesterday than all of his days combined. That I could feel that is. TUMS is no longer cutting it anymore and I have had to move on to bigger and better drugs, but I have no complaints.
Ewwww. Emma just squashed a big hairy spider.
Since I know you’ve all been waiting anxiously to hear about my shipment from GapMaternity, I am happy to report that everything arrived yesterday. (Those little stinkers didn’t send the “shipped” email UNTIL yesterday, however, so I’ve been thinking the whole time that they hadn’t even been shipped yet. Sigh. People should really say what they mean and mean what they say, right??!!)
I decided that since this is one of the few times in life where it is totally appropriate to wear elastic waistbands, I might as well just dive right in. Thus, I sported a new pair of “demi-panel” pants to our small group’s gathering at California Tortilla last night. Several of my “friends” informed me that I didn’t need to be wearing maternity pants but to them, I say “Bof!” (great French expression…you should use it sometime.) Pressure on the belly–even a smallish pooch–is still pressure. Oh, and just to reassure everyone– you couldn’t actually TELL I was wearing said pants from just looking at me. But what fun is it not to show people the elastic?
We couldn’t help but be overtaken by the music inside the restaurant and I am happy to report that I’ve signed some people up for an “Interpretive Dance Party” event I would like to hold. Since this is me and, as mentioned in a previous post, I am completely ignorant about music, I can’t even think of the song we were really having a good time acting out last night…anyone? something about angels falling? being too cold? I don’t know. But if anyone wants to get interpretive to “Dancin’ Queen”, “Like a Prayer”, or “Truly, Madly, Deeply”, I’m THERE!!
